Custom software development

Software designed around your process rather than the other way round: business systems, portals and tools that fit how your company works and change as it grows.

When custom is the right answer

Packaged software is right when your process is ordinary. Custom software is right when the process is your advantage, when the packaged product forces expensive workarounds, or when several packaged tools have to be glued together with manual steps. The usual signs: the "real" system lives in spreadsheets, the same data is typed into three places, or reporting means an afternoon of copy-and-paste.

We will tell you when an existing product is the better choice. Building what you can buy is a poor use of anyone's money.

What a custom system from us includes

  • User roles and permissions enforced on the server, not just hidden in menus.
  • Validation and constraints in the database so bad data cannot get in.
  • Audit history of who changed what and when.
  • Reports and exports in formats you can use elsewhere (CSV, PDF, API).
  • Automated tests, a documented deployment, and migration scripts for every schema change.

Examples of the kind of work

  • Quotation, sales and invoicing systems with approval workflows.
  • Production, job or asset tracking with barcode or NFC capture.
  • Client portals that show project status, documents and invoices.
  • Attendance, leave and simple payroll for organisations with specific rules.
  • Engineering record systems for requirements, revisions and test results.

Questions we are often asked

How long does a custom system take?

A focused first release is typically measured in weeks, not months, because we ship the highest-value workflow first and extend from there. The proposal gives milestone dates.

Can it run on our own server or hosting?

Yes. We design for ordinary hosting (including shared cPanel hosts) as well as VPS and cloud, and we document the deployment so your team can operate it.

What happens after launch?

You can maintain it yourself with the documentation and tests, or retain us for support and further development under a simple agreement.
