Picky Pals Privacy Policy
How the Picky Pals game handles information. In short: the game itself collects nothing and has no accounts. Players' ages and progress stay on the phone. Players under 13 never see ads; players 13 and over see Google AdMob ads without the Family pack, and Google never receives the advertising ID.
Who this covers
This policy covers Picky Pals, a thinking game for Android made for families and children by Ahmedonics Technologies (Private) Limited. This version is dated 1 November 2026 and describes the game from version 0.2.0. How this website handles its visitors is described in the company privacy policy.
What the game collects
Picky Pals itself collects nothing. It has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics and no servers of its own, and it never sends players' names, ages, progress or anything else to us.
Two Google services built into the game do handle some information, described below: Google AdMob, which shows ads to players 13 and over, and Google Play Billing, which handles the optional Family pack. That information goes to Google, not to us.
Information stored on the phone
Each player is a picture, a nickname and an age, chosen on the phone when the player is added. The age decides two things only: whether the player sees ads, and what is free. The game keeps it as a birth year, so it stays right as the player grows up. Their progress (Pals befriended, stars, awards, hints, buttons, hats), the last five weeks of puzzles played (for the Parents' corner) and the game's settings are saved on the phone only. The game leaves them out of Android backup, so they do not go to a Google account. Uninstalling the game deletes them, and Settings > For grown-ups changes a player's age or resets their progress.
Ads
Players under 13 never see ads. While a child, or a player whose age has not been given, is playing, the game does not start Google's ad service and asks for no ads; in a family game, one child playing is enough.
Players 13 and over, without the Family pack, see a short ad now and then between challenges, never during one and never in the first minutes of play, and may choose to watch a video for two more hints. These ads come from Google AdMob through the Google Mobile Ads SDK. Players aged 13 to 17 get Google's teen ad treatment. The game does not hold the permission to read the Android advertising ID, so Google never receives it from anyone playing. Ads are limited to content rated suitable for all ages (G).
Google states that its Mobile Ads SDK collects the device's IP address (which may be used to estimate the general location), interactions such as app launches, taps and video views, diagnostic information such as app launch time and hang rate, and device identifiers such as the app set ID. Google uses it to show and measure ads and to prevent fraud, and it is encrypted in transit. Google's handling of this information is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google's consent message appears to players 13 and over where the law requires it, and a Privacy choices button in Settings > For grown-ups lets you change the answer later.
The Family pack
The Family pack is an optional one-time purchase for everyone on the phone: it opens Puzzlewood Park and Wiggle Station for players under 13, removes the ads for players 13 and over, and adds hints for each player. It is offered only behind a grown-up check in Settings. Google Play Billing processes the payment; we never see card or account details. Play Billing also sends Google diagnostic information about the purchase service, such as whether a request succeeded. Google's handling of purchases is governed by the Google Play Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
Sharing
After a daily puzzle, a player can share today's puzzle card, a picture of the day's Pal with treats it ate and refused, through the phone's own share sheet, with a line about their result and a link to the game. For a player under 13 this is behind the grown-up check. The picture shows nothing about the player, and the game sends nothing itself: the app chosen in the share sheet does.
Permissions
Picky Pals asks for no location, contacts, camera or microphone permission, and none that needs a question on screen. It holds the Internet and network-state permissions for the ads and the Family pack, the billing permission for the Family pack, and vibration for its game feedback. Google's libraries add the standard permissions their background work needs (wake lock, foreground service).
Children
Picky Pals is made for players of every age, children included. We do not collect personal information from anyone, of any age. Players under 13 see no ads; the purchase, the links out of the game (this policy among them) and sharing for a child are behind a grown-up check; and there is no chat and no online play. Parents and guardians can write to us at any time; as we hold no information about players, there is nothing on our side to review or delete.
Third-party software
The game is made with the Godot Engine (MIT licence) and uses the Fredoka typeface (SIL Open Font License); both run on the phone and collect nothing. It includes the Google Mobile Ads SDK and Google's User Messaging Platform for consent, and the Google Play Billing Library, which handle information as described above. The full licences are under Settings > For grown-ups > Licences.
